Bush Clutches Presidential Nominee

During the mock election on October 27 in the Grand ballroom of the union, president hopeful, Jeb Bush gain the nominee for the Republican Party at the WIU Republican Convention.

Before each state delegates voted, the presidential candidate student campaign managers had the oppurnitiny to give one last speech. After, the delegates could talk with the managers and begin deciding on whom to vote on. 1,259 votes or more are required in order to receive the nomination, if this number is not met then there is another vote.  The convention took two votes, the first time Bush took 600 votes plus and Donald Trump 400 votes plus. The second vote, Jeb took a staggering lead over the other candidates with 976 votes, and Trump following second with 682 votes. After the vote came nominations for Vice President Candidate and party platform.

The Bush manager nominated Mark Rubio to be Jeb running mate.  At first there was an issue of both candidates being from the same states. It was verified that Rubio could be taken on as the running mate of Bush.      The Platform was unanimously approved.

Bush’s main issues reforms to education, Veterans affairs, border security, small business growth and bring health care back to the states. He also wants to secure the second amendment, and add a standard round law. His energy policy is to increase domestic drill and fracking, reduce regulations and restrictions on exporting oil and natural gas, and wants to approve Keystone KL Pipeline. He supports a balanced budget policy, uses line item vetoes, and wants to repeal net neutrality

Brady Smith and Francesca Hamm will be working together moving forward on the road to the white house.
